Switch chatter

When a single physical press registers as two or more electrical clicks.

Mechanical switches degrade. After 5–20 million actuations, contact bounce can produce a second false click within milliseconds of the first. Any gap under 25 ms between two non-repeat events on the same switch is almost certainly chatter — humans can't double-click that fast. Common in well-loved Logitech and Razer mice with Omron D2F-01F switches.
