Ghosting (keyboards)

When pressing certain key combinations causes a held key to disappear or an unpressed one to register.

Keyboard matrices share electrical paths between rows and columns. Cheap controllers can confuse simultaneous presses — usually three or more keys near each other — by reporting a phantom press or dropping a real one. NKRO controllers separate every key onto its own circuit. Famous ghosting combos include WASD + space + shift on budget keyboards.
